It took years to come up with the technology to get the oil out of the ground in the Bakken. But once two of our client companies got it right, they only had weeks before they needed housing for all the workers hired to man the rigs. We responded with the 249-bed Williston North Lodge, which we built and opened in just 75 days. While the exterior was constructed to endure the harsh Dakotan winters, the interiors were built with the comfort of the worker in mind. From comfortable beds and linens to inviting TV lounges and Internet cafe, everything is there to keep the oil field workforce happy. And to keep them safe, we recommended and installed a proprietary security system that utilized proximity cards for entry to the camp, the dining rooms and all bedrooms.
KEY CHALLENGES
Short timetable. Extreme temperatures and winds.
THE EXTRA MILE
To make it easier for our guests to communicate with friends and loved ones, we installed a cell tower to enhance mobile phone reception in remote North Dakota.
